Subject: Thermostat info Please IP: Logged
Message: Today, in the process of looking for something in my shop, I run across a thermostat. It's a ROBERTSHAW CONTROL or so it says . Also on the top are the numbers 336/436 180. On the plunger , bottom side it says v181 on one side and 3 m2 on other side. There is no V notch on the side and no relief hole in it.Anyone know if this is a Dakota stat or what else it might be.
So many problems .... So little time

Message: I am using a Robert Shaw 180* thermo, I got mine at Autozone, you could stop in and compare what you found with what they sell and see if its the same thing.

Message: The 336/436 is equivalent to the Stant #13368, and does not fit anything domestic.
eBay listings give the cross-reference to 1988 Toyota pickups with the 2.4L, the Renault Alliance and Encores with the 1.7L and 2.0L's, the 2.0L and 1.8L's in the Ford Courier, and the Toyota Corona and Mark II's with the 2.3L and 1.9L engines.
Trust me - I have one of these things sitting in a blistercard and don't know what the heck to do with it...
