Subject: high flow cats IP: Logged
Message: I have a 1999 Dakota R/T and I want to put a high flow cat on her. I have done a little looking around but cant seem to find one. The cat on there now is duel in single out and the problem is I cant find one. Does anyone know where I could find a cat that is duel in single out that would be legal to use in California.
Thanks

Message: Unless your cat has pluged some how, your not going to gain nothing. then again I had to replace mine on my 99 5.2 4x4 CC It pluged bad. The dealer installed the new one free. It felt all wrong so I took a run up Woodville hill. 70 MPH tops over the top > It's about 5 miles but steep. I went to the muffler shop and he cut it off. You could see right through it as you should. Just could see some spider webing. Replaced it and on that same hill the truck hit 95 MPH and still pulling hard . this was half way up. This was also how it run new. I still have that other new cat in my shop. So far nobody can see a reason why it was bad.
My contention is the orginal cats are cheap inconsistant garbage. There for replacing it may and may not help how it runs. I well never buy a Dodge dealer replacement cat again.
I also think ANY good aftermarket is going to do the job as good as it gets . There may be other opinions about this but unless they got actual tested prof on paper I sure wouldn't be waisting my money
So many problems .... So little time
