Subject: Mildew smell found IP: Logged
Message: I was looking for the source of the mildew smell in my 03 CC and what a mess I found. I started by taking out the tray underneath the seat in the back where the carpet was wet. As I looked further the backing to the carpet on the passenger side is completely soaked. The top of the carpet is dry but underneath is soaked. This is only on the passenger side. All the windows are shut and not leaking. Where can this be coming from. Was the A/C leaking? I recently replaced the blower motor resistor could this be related?? Please help my truck smell like s**t!!!!

Message: Blower motor resistor replacement would not be related to a leak in the back seat area.
Check under the passenger side carpet up front, too. That's where it might have originated, and perhaps just migrated to a low spot in back? There are lots of posts here about front passenger side water intrusion, but yours is the first I've seen with water in the back.

Message: I had my back rear slider replaced. I noticed that the window was leaking. I don't know how long it was leaking for before I noticed it. Do you think it is possible for the water to migrate from the rear to the fornt passenger side underneath the carpet?? If water was leaking from the a/c you would think that the top of the carpet would be wet not underneath it

Message: Yeah, leaks are terrible. I don't think you would be using the air conditioner right now that it's beginning to get cooler, but check to see if condensation from the compressor is leaking into the cab. You might have already checked that. Just my thoughts.

Got hit (sideswiped by a 1 ton and trailer) and the body shop patched it up ok but... it started filling full of water on the passenger side under the carpet, front and back! Hit the breaks and you could hear the water swoosh!!
Turns out after I removed all the rear plastic panneling inside the cab, the seam that glues the cab back quarter panel to the rear panel (from the top of the cab - covered with the black trim to the base of the cab) that holds the window was knocked loose, and was wizzing water into the cab even from a light drizzle. The autobody shop split the truck from the box to repair it all but still somehow missed this.
A bitch to check if this is it though... it took me nearly a hour to remove the rear panels, then start to pull up the carpet and follow it through with a garden hose from the outside
