Subject: Dealer, Houston, warranty work not cover IP: Logged
Message: I have an 01 QC SLT 4.7 trailer towing, etc. ,etc.
While under warranty, power to the runnning lights for the trailer quit working-from the truck. It was spliced under warranty, they charged DC to drop the gas tank, etc., - they didn't drop the gas tank. (It seems charging DC for work not actually done is common, They charged DC for upper control arms and BJ's on the recall, and only installed BJ's, not the one piece unit.)
Years later, my running lights, from the truck, do not work again.
I also had the water in the pass. side floor board fixed, now it is wet as hell again. I only noticed it years later- again. (The drain pipe is not clogged)
Both of these repairs- are non-maintenance items. I.E. - don't wear out like brakes, tires, BJ's, etc.
The shop manager, Trey Bernard, states b/c it's no longer under warranty- they won't fix it. It was worked on and supposedly fixed, for good, under warranty. They should honor their repairs of these non maintenance items.
The general manager has yet to return my call.

Maybe let that dude know you plan on calling DC< and also telling them how you noticed they replaced parts that they did not!

Message: I called back, the GM is out of town until next week.
I really feel DC should stand behind these non maintenance items.
Lets see if they'll suprise me/us.

Message: UPdate,
the GM called me back.
I told him the story about the water of floorboard, and my trailer lights not working.
I could hear the keyboard tapping in the backround, and he said, 'bring it in'.
So I guess they are going to attempt another fix.
I'll UPdate the outcome again after I take it in.

Message: Update:
They had my truck today, gave me a free rental for the day, and looked into the above problems with my truck.
They did the TSB on the A/C condensation hose, dried the carpet, etc. Should be fixed now- again. (the TSB wasn't out when they fixed it the first time.)
The trailer lights are a different story.
He showed me with a circuit tester, that the power was not getting to the circuit board under the hood. (I think it's called the power control module)-something like that. Where the battery terminal goes into a rectangular box, with fuse links, next to the battery. He mentioned it was about 1,500$ US.
I'll keep using the spiced wire for my running lights on the sailboat trailor, and look into it when I have time.
All in all,

Did right by me, listened, and tried to fix what they could within reason, and gave me a rental while they had my truck. NO charge.
