The GOP is in office now, gas prices have fallen to what they were almost a year ago. It's not the GOP's doing for high pump prices: go look at the Arabs and the oil refiners for the cause. Quit whining about something that isn't real."
You get real. Please stop being a GOP worshiper and think for yourself. I used to be a Demo myself, but they no longer repersent moral values like they once did. The Repubs seem to just bow down to big corporate intrest.
And I believe most of the voters that voted out the Republican, were indeed REPUBLICANS!!
But anyway.... I'm might just skip the Chevy Colorodo and go for a GMC 1/2 ton

Message: Hey STS, let me get this straight. Since I offer a viewpoint different than yours you acuse me of being a GOP worshipper that doesn't/can't think for myself? Who died and left you to be the authority?
It wouldn't matter who is president, or what political party has the power in Washington: today's price of gas would be the same or close to what we have.
Do I like these gas prices? Not really. But let's look at a larger picture. Most people in Europe might consider giving a necessary body part to pay only $3 per gallon.
When my son was in the UK this past April the petrol price 1.31 Euros a liter. That would be 4.96 Euros per gallon. The exchange rate then was $1 = .8 Euro: $6.20 per gallon. The average gas price in L.A. then was $3.25 per gallon. I'd rather pay our prices.
You state you are in your mid 20s. You haven't lived long enough to see and experience how the real world works. When I was that age I thought I knew it all. Looking back on it now I can see I didn't, and I strongly suspect you don't either.
When someone offers an opinion or fact that you don't agree with don't resort to name calling and labeling. Instead, offer a compelling arguement for that person to consider. Be imaginative. Use the internet to educate yourself. Broaden your world view. Who knows, you might help someone "see the light".
Oh yeah. Weren't you pissing and moaning about your Dakota's low MPG and desiring to get something a little better on gas consumption? How does going to a full size GMC pickup truck solve your need?

Well anyway. I don't know how old you are, but being an Independent able's me to think for myself. Another words; I voted for conservative on the ballet this year in my State. I like John Tanner so I voted for him. The other guy was a joke.
Anyway... I couldn't see myself driving a underpowerd dog like the GM midsize trucks. I quess the Silverado 4.8L V8 would be a perfect option. But GM had to wast money on a 5 cly.
At least the 1/2 ton can tow something.
I think Joe.c still got his.. You still like it or are you going to trade it in on the Ford?
I hope you understand why your party got the boot this year. And it wasn’t just about the Iraq issue.

Well, first of all if you even botherd to watch European Closing bell like I do. You would have known that the Brits don't use Euros. They use the Sterling or Pound!! So there for I quess you didn't know half as much as you thought you did.
Next time you want to correct some one, don't make any mistakes!! Even STS knew they didn't use the Euro as currency. And thats saying something!
Josh! You should got back to school also.. When you begin a sentence, also ways use capital letters.
Now since you want to bring up the daddy subject; you mind tell us about your child hood???

"Well, first of all if you even botherd (correct word is: bothered) to watch European Closing bell like I do. You would have known that the Brits don't use Euros. They use the Sterling or Pound!! So there for (correct word is, therefore) I quess (correct word is, guess) you didn't know half as much as you thought you did."
If you are really so up on the money business as your claim indicates you'd know it was called "Pound Sterling", not "sterling or pound".
"Next time you want to correct some one (correct word is, someone), don't make any mistakes!!"
Really? Show me how. Demonstrate, please.
"Even STS knew they didn't use the Euro as currency. And thats (correct word is, that's) saying something!"
Is the reader to infer here that you are psychic or judgmental? I don't seem to find in any of his postings in the thread to indicate something to support that claim. These statements are far from complimentary to STS - they show condescension and point the thought toward he's not that bright. Who knows? Maybe Truth is STS since he seems to know more than the rest of us do about STS's intelligence???
Anyway Mr. "Truth", I wasn't in England this past April, but my son was. He told me Euros. That's what he said he saw. Maybe it was pounds. But let's just say he was wrong and it really was 1.31 pounds per litre... That would be 4.96 pounds per gallon. The exchange rate then was $1 = .57086 pounds: $8.69 per gallon.
This futher underscores my point: in the big picture we have little room to piss and moan about paying $3 per gallon for gas, even if it is a "gas guzzling" Dakota.
People like "Truth" make it diffucult for other folks to have civil web discussions.

Well as a matter of fact you don't even have to type words you don't even know how to spell in order just to pretend to have a IQ over 100! Matter of fact in the president uses spell check all the time in order for his white house aids to read in his speeches.

Message: Alright, I'll follow your lead, let's switch names now. You're not really fooling anyone. Please be aware that spell checker won't save you all the time though; for example, it won't tell you wether to use "someone" or "some one" since they are all real words. You still need to know how to use words correctly. Of course, that's the least of your intelectual worries.
Modain - I agree, looks like the name swiper is STS - he ought to be ashamed to post under his regular name by now.
