Subject: Low Idle IP: Logged
Message: Hey guys.. i just purchased a 96 dakota sport.. it has a low idle, and when it is freshly started, after coming to the first intial stop.. it sputters and hesitates to go. im definitely nt a mechanic and was wondering what that could be due to?? any help would be appreciated. thanks

Message: my '93 had the same prob - the vacume hose was squashed to the pcv valve.

Message: The Idle Air Control valve (IAC) is often the cause of idle problems. Removing it and spraying it down with carb cleaner might possibly help. If you don't know where it is, it's located on the side of the throttle body.
