 Subject: Brake pad failure

....FR brake pad on my '01 4.7 4x2 just let go the other morning on my way to work. When I was able to pull over (hwy exit ramp) and check it out the inside pad was just gone. The metal backing was there,,but that's it. Easily 50%+ of material left on the other pads. Lots of life left in them.
I realized something though. Having slotted rotors REALLY make it REALLY bumpy when that pad starts to fall apart during a heavy brake. I thought the wheel was going to fly off.
Inside of my Brembo slotted rotor looked remarkedly ok though,,,didn't seem to f'it up to bad. Slapped on some fresh pads...good as new.
I'm amazed how well these cheap ass single piston craps actually work though,,,on a truck.
