Subject: tb swap in progress...

Message:
first question i've come up with after removing the stock v6 tb, is what about the rim around the top of the tb that looks to be a permanent gasket for the airhat? my v8 tb does not have that rim. is this gonna let dirt in? do i need to make a gasket with some silicone or something?

thanks!

If it is black, it is not permanet, it is a gasket and just stuck on there. No reason to replace it unless it is in bad shape.

its on the v6 tb that i'm removing.
not on the v8 tb i'm installing.

actually, already did it, and seems ok, but i may make another one from some silicone or something.

i wonder if it was from the airhat and just stuck to the tb?

Yeah, it's not a permanent gasket...if you can get it off in one piece, just reuse it. It shouldn't be THAT stuck on there...but I guess anything can happen. If you can't get it off, I'm sure it wouldn't hurt to make one.
