Hey.
Good question? I have a 2002 quad cab v8 4.7 Automatic 4x4. What is the name of my transmission? I hear different names like 46E something?
Whats mine called, I would like to search it and gather info.
Can I find the name on the truck somewhere?

It's either a 45RFE, or a 545RFE.
They're pretty much identical from the outside.
The 545RFE has two 2nd gears - one for normal upshift, and another for foot-to-the-floor downshifts.
If you take your VIN to a dealership parts or service dept, and they can tell you exactly which one you have.

As Dawson said, it is either one or the other. One of the easiest ways to find out though is to check the build label in you glove box. It should tell you which tranny you have.
