Subject: New Tires IP: Logged
Message: I am taking my truck in for a front end allignment and new tires. My question is what brand of tires do you recomend. My truck is a 99 2wd 3.9 manual tranny. I do not take my truck off road at all, but I do get snow where I live, and with my job (EMS) I can't call out because I got stuck in the snow. So they need to be all season tires. I currentlly have good year wrangler rt's and I am extrememlly un- satisfied with the performance of them so I am proobablly not going to be getting good years.
Thank you for and advise

Message: I've got about 40K miles on a set of Michelin LTX M/S. Year round, towing, hauling, commuting, long distance drive, rare off road, and some serious snow storm. I mean rocky mountain blizzards. This is probably the best all around tire I've ever owned. In another 20-30K miles these tires will wear out. I'll get another set just like them. Far superior to the goodyear all terrains that came on the truck.
When I lived in upstate NY (near Utica), I had a RWD car that I used for local driving and commuting only. I put a set of Kelley snows on it. That was a great snow tire. I would certainly buy them again if I was looking for a dedicated snow. Of course, I never swapped them out; drove on them year round.

Message: Another excellent choice would be BF Goodrich AT TKO - I've been plowing with them for many years; and have outplowed heavier trucks with lesser tires in big storms. They wear well too.
Lead, follow, or get out of the way
