just put a new waterpump, clutch fan on my 99 5.2 4x4,motor fires up fine, now it seems when i turn on my lights, blinkers, or try my horn my windsheild wipers go on?? im thinking there must be a short in the circuit but i dont know how to go about finding it. its seems almost as if every accessory, turns on the wipers? any suggestions?

sounds like your multi-function switch is bad or the wiring in the column is touching ground. the wiring runs along the bottom of the column. my first thing would be to find used switch to borrow/buy and try that first

And this just happened AFTER you put in the waterr pump and clutch fan? Ok, what did you do??Did you disconnect anything electrical durning the job?

well actually to tell you the truth i dont know when it happend, i pulled my batt. when doing the water pump, 7 days later when i reinstalled it i started the truck and never drove it not needing to, then when my neighbor "borrowd" my batterie, and when i tried to drive it this occured, leaving me in the dry with why it occured originally..

Sounds like a ground loop. Is there a wire you missed that needs to be connected to a battery post. Also you may have somehow dammaged a wire reinstalling the battery. A ground loop can accure anywhere in the auto. Last one I seen was in a Plymouth station wagon tail gate door. It was a bad one. As you turned on differant items from the dash. it would turn on one or 2 other items with it. crazy stuff lol
