Subject: Ram Air? IP: Logged
Message: I have a cold air intake on my 98. Sometimes when I look at it, then think of what its called, I wonder why. why the f*ck is it called a cold air intake if it's suckin up all the air under the warm hood? So I've been thinking of running a hose from maybe just behind the grill, or cutting out the holes in the facia for the fog lights I dont have and put some mesh or something over them and run hoses to my cold air intake and make a box to put around it so its only getting the "cold" air. make sense to anybody? I know if I use the fog lights holes I'd have to worry about deep water launching into my intake. I've thought of putting holes in the hoses I'd be running but I imagine water can still linger up in there.
good or bad, I want all comments
Thanks

Message: My K&N Kit has a heat shield and the filter sits pretty close to the grill and down low. Even when my engine is smokin' hot, the area the filter lives in is much cooler.
