Yesterday I received a letter in the mail from a:
Robert Earl Case, Jr. Attorney at Law.
562 Southwest Siesta Place
Lake City, FL 32025
Ph: 386.752.0194
Fax: 386.752.0238

First the letter starts off stating why he is writing to me, It's a long page and describes people having several problems with their dakota's and the problem not being fixed after taking it to the dealership over and over again. He's been doing research on the Vibration Problems on the 2005 Dakota's. Dakota Owners have complained about a substantial Vibration Problems. The vibration sometimes happens when the vehicle is travling at highway speeds (50-70 MPH) without using the brakes. The vibration problem also sometimes happens when the brakes are applied. Some Dakota owners have said that the vibration problems caused their brakes to malfunction.

Then he writes in big letters: PLEASE HELP ME INVESTIGATE THIS APPARENT PATTERN DEFECT FURTHER. PLEASE ALSO SEND ME COPIES OF ANY REPAIR ORDERS YOU HAVE RECEIVED IN THE PAST FROM THE DEALERSHIP.

Then he goes on to say: If you complete and send the next page of this letter back to my office I will do all of the following for you in return:

* I will contact you to discuss your particular situation with your vehicle.
* I will also give you more details regarding the research I have already done on your vehicle.
* I will inform you of what others registered owners are telling me aboutthe pattern defect in response to letters like this one.
* If I decide to take legal action in the furture, after doing this investigation, i will let you know what your legal rights and options are with regard to the pattern defect. I will only be contacting those registeres owners that return my BASWIC INFORMATION FORM that is the next page attached to this letter.

Signed Robert Earl Case, Jr.

Well it looks like this is a serious problem folks. Now i live in Florida so thats why all the info refers to the state of Florida, You may receive a letter from an Attorney at Law in your own state,.. I don't know.

Did anyone else in the state of Florida receive one of these letters?
I had the Vibration problem and i took my Truck in for repair which took 3 Damn Days to complete,.. all they did was turn the Drums and replace the rear pads. I still have a Pulsating problem when i apply the brakes at speeds of 45mph+, it feels like the front Brakes, I dunno tho.

I will be filling out this info and sending it to Robert to see if anything ever comes of it.

Those that live outside the state of Florida may also want to maybe contact him if they have had problems with their Dakota if they do not receive a letter from a Attorney in their own state.

Well,... I just wanted to inform you folks that i received this letter and to let you know that someone is looking into the issues were having with our Dakota's. What will come of it? I have no idea.

Let me know what your thoughts are...

Jim.

U know I got the same problem when I apply the brakes but my truck has over 222,000 K miles on it. Also I would stay away from the new Dakota period since all Dodge degraded the Dakota when they just made it into a grocery getter.

Sounds like a new Florida lawyer trying to make a name for himself by taking on a vehicle manufacturer, and soliciting for problems to try to build a case.
