It's always tough to prove whether something increases your mileage. I love my Dakota, but am always looking for ways to increase mileage. It was getting me 12-14 on highway during the first year.
I installed a set of Halo's about a month ago, truck has 68k miles. So far I've gotten 17 and 16.75 with 90% highway going up to our lake place. Having done this trip 30-40 times in the past, I would say I would get between 14.5 and 16, usually 15-ish.
The Halo's are the third set to go into my Dakota (OEM, then AutoLites, then these). In the past I've never gotten better than 16.5, even with the fresh autolites and a tailwind. My setup is pretty poor for mileage '02 QC 4.7 4x4 w/ 3.92 lsd. I've had a glass cover since almost the beginning (does nothing for MPG).
It does APPEAR that the plugs gave me at least 1 mpg improvement, possibly 1.5. The only other thing that has helped me get MPG was switching to M1 oil (~ 1 mpg).
I'm not saying I have proof in this, just what I've observed so far. If it's true the $80 will pay for itself quite easily.

I'm just wondering if you had similar results to mine or different. I'm still skeptical of my own numbers (they are just plugs after all), so please post some results for comparison.
If it is a 1 mpg increase we are talking about, then there is $415 savings @ 2.50 gallon and $500 @ 3 gallon over 40k miles (15 to 16 mpg average).
