Subject: The parts prices are high!! IP: Logged
Message: ok, went to my town junck yard. i looked at some parts for my 88'dak 4x4. just some normal part that are on all daks. 2 tail gate staps which all dodge tial gate straps are universal anyomre. the new ones will work on the old too. then a couple of tail lights. and a shifter boot. here are the prices.....
tial gate staps....10.00 each
tail lights........35.00 each
shifter boot.......10.00 each/ had mold growning on it or something.
i dunno the price's for the dakota parts around where i live to darn high. Is it like ever where else too. it's really starting to piss me off a lot. If you have a chevy, ford,or even forin trucks the darn price is cut in half. well if anyone can find lower prices on these part post a message. well hope all the other dak owners have more luck then i had. Keep them on the road!!

Message: try buyin them parts from your friendly Dodge dealer if ya think the boneyards are expensive. the bone yard only want a wallet full of money and the dealers a wheelbarrow full. Passenger side window on a 92 dak at the local yard around here was around $20 to $35 dependin on who ya are and who ya call. Auto glass replacement places want around $ 175 or so installed and the dealer wanted $280.

Message: Thinking this over. my dad's 87'dak had a tail light broken out it only coast him 45.00 for a new onefrom the dealer. the junkyard wants 35.00 for a used one. um used or new?? NEW!! and his has the chorme trim on it!!
Curtis your right it does suck! the "estimating Guied" I think is a figure out of there. well you know. so.. i think i might try the dealer. there new part, and it dosesn't have mold on it.
i'll still think about this some more.
Good luck
keep the dak's on the road!!
