on how big.

Message: Could this be the mounting brace that is used to relocate the cruise control? Mine came with a small black brace for this purpose.

Message: Well after reading through some of the archives, Ive seen that mentioned..But the problem is, i dont think i need to relocate the cruise control...i had nothing connected to the old system and i installed the new system without a problem...what gives?
can it be that my particular yr and engine (01 4.7) doent need this and others do?

Message: That bracket is for the cruise control. If you have cruise control, then you will need to use it because it will be in the way of the filter.

Message: BlueThunder,
I ordered my Z-tube with a 7" filter instead of a 9" Big Mouth and didn't need to move the cruise control mounting bracket. If you don't have cruise control it shouldn't be a problem either! P.S. 7" filters draw PLENTY of air for a 4.7, the 9 inchers are designed for BIG block engines - but you know how most guys are with respect to ANYTHING measured in inches! Hehehe!

Message: That bracket is for the cruise control, if you have cruise control you will have to use the bracket (installs easily) if you plan on using one of the larger filters. Bill in NY
p.s. Be sure to retighten the clamps on your Z -Tube after a few hours of running your truck.
