This topic may seem a little out of season for some of you, but up in the northern rockies winter is just around the bend (it snowed above 10,000 ft here last week.)

Just curious what some of my fellow northerners are using for snow tires and what their opinions are about them. I've done plenty of internet research but just wanted to hear some firsthand advice. Let 'er rip!

I use Michelin LTX M/S tires year round. I live in central CO, grew up in Upstate NY. Spent a lot of time on snows, and in bad weather. These are the best snow tire's I've ever used. My Dakota never gets stuck, and only slides when I'm stupid/careless. Driven them through some serious blizzards without difficulty.

At 40K miles, there's still plenty of tread and traction left.

I've been plowing with Goodrich All Terrains for longer than I can remember (close to 20 years?). Not planning on switching...

Go with the Michelin's, I live in northern New Hampshire and have never been stuck since putting on these tires. I run them all year round and I feel like I'm glued to the road no matter what the weather.

BFGoodrich All Terrain T/A ko. I live in Michigan (All terrain style weather all year). They work great. $485 a set for me. I dont know how that compares to Michelins. Both are good.

BF A/T's are good tires. I used to run those but now have the michellin LTX M/S tires. For me they are a better all season. The big advantage for me is that the michellin's are quieter on pavement. They are not nearly as aggressive off road.
