 Subject: Question about codes

Hello, My engine light turned on this week and codes P0643 and P0442 are being reported. I have read that P0442 may be the gas cap or cracked or broken lines. Does anyone have any experience with P0643 or additional information about P0442?

Check gas cap closely -make sure is/was tight.
Possible may need a new one..
P0643 is like unknown -if it persists , you
will probably have to go to the dealer...

Thanks. I will check the fuel cap again and probably replace it. P0643 states "Sensor REF Voltage 1 Circuit High". Not sure what that means though. Anyone have a clue about this one?

Are you sure about that code #?. Not on my list, but P0463 is FUEL LEVEL SENSOR HIGH. Post your email and I can send you the code list I have. Must have a PDF reader.

I believe P0441 is the more common code for gas cap. P0442 is a bigger leak than that, possible the charcoal canister thinging, evac purge pump whatever it is, or a hose somewhere. When I got P0442 it was the pump ant it cost 125$ to replace.
