Subject: Volt meter acting up IP: Logged
Message: For a few weeks now, the nedle of my volt meter goes all the way to the right side, causing the check gages light to warn me. Then i quikly turn the keys off and on again and it goes back to normal voltage reading.
It has happened about 6 or 7 times.
I noticed that the battery is getting that blue stuff around its poles and as far as i think, it is from excessive charge from the alternator.
Am i right?
Eventually, i`ll have that checked by a mechanic, but i didn`t yet.
Can any one give me any ideas?
Thanks in advance.

Message: First, if you haven't done so, renew the battery terminal connections (take them loose and clean them up). See if that changes things.

Message: have the battery checked. This is a sign of a shot battery. Internal short. Do check before replacing. other things can cause this such as a wire shorting ouSo many problems .... So little time
