Subject: window problem IP: Logged
Message: I have a 2000 Dakota, SLT. The power window on the passenger side seems to have come out of it's track or off it's pivot point on the front portion of the window. The rear portion of the window goes up and down OK, but since the forward portion does not, the window gets tilted and jams. Anybody else have this problem? It seems like it should be easy to fix, once I get to the inside of the door. Anybody have any tips on removing the interior door panel on the passenger side?
Thanks, Justin

Message: well, i have a '98, i dont know how different the door panels are but all you have to do is pull the door panel away from the door by hand. there are little plastic pop screws that are just pushed into the holes in the door all the way around. of course you will have to disconnect the linkage from the door handle and remove the pushdown lock on the top of the door panel but it's pretty basic. you will also have to disconnect the power window/lock panel on the door but that's real easy too. it shows you exactly everything in a chiltons on haynes manual.
