Subject: AC broke 110 heat index, I am dying IP: Logged
Message: Seriously what a great day for it to quit working. Here is the facts yo.
Worked yesterday icy cold no problems.
Doesn't work today, I do not believe the compressor is engaging when I turn on the ac, I am not hereing the click, whir sound.
Is there a fuse I can check?

Message: The same thing happened to me a few weeks back...I have a '00. I did check the fuses, but there was no problem. I ended up taking it to the dealership. For $100.00(cdn)they recharged the system, and put a dye in to identify any leaks. They ran the truck for 45 minutes, and could not see any dye discharge. I am to return in 2 weeks time,at no charge, to check for any dye leaks. The service manager told me that it is not uncommon for a leak to be so miniscule that a re-charge could last years. I will keep my fingers crossed....A side note, I also took the truck to the dealer, and had them install an auxilliary trans-cooler into the truck. I am very happy with the look of the cooler from through the grill....

Message: Damn Glenn that was the most helpful post ever....Which fuse is it? When looking in the owner manual and on the fuse map doesn't really say which one it is.

Message: If the fuses check out, you may have a slow leak that has finally allowed the pressure in the system low enough to prevent compressor engagement, which is typically the more likely problem.

Message: With the hood up check and see if the pully is turning. On my 94 v-6 the bearing went out giving a rusty color dust . The pully turns off center and wears the pully.
