Subject: Running 32" tires IP: Logged
Message: I have a stock 04 4x4 and would like to increase my stock wheels/tires to a larger diameter combo. If I increase overall diameter of each wheel by 1" will I have any rubbing problems or need to adjust torsion bar to lift front end?
Thanks for the help,
mayo.

Message: 32s rub the frame a little at full turn on my 99 Dakota ext cab 4x4. I just make sure to park on the fringes of parking lots so I don't have to make those tight turns. It's not really the added diameter that's the issue, but rather the added width. The board has varying opinions about increasing the tension on the torsion bars; better read up about it so you can make an informed decision whether to do it or not.

Message: Rick, have you adjusted your torsion up any to see if they still rub? Do you go offroad any, and if so do they rub any with ruff terain?
Thanks for the help,

Message: It also depends on your engine size and just luck of the draw on how much room you have left to adjust the bars. I have put 32s on a durango 5.2L with just torsion bars cranked, plenty of room, no rubbing except very lightly when going down a really steep driveway turning left onto a flat road... otherwise in parkinglots or on/off the road no issues.

Message: I am running 265/75/16 (32X10.50)on my stock 03 4X4 without any rubbing. As long as your tire width is not wider than 10.50" you can run the 32"s with zero problems, only if you go wider will it rub.
