Message: The fan is attached with a backwards thread. I may be wrong but, I think there is a bolt in the pump that you can see when the fan and pulley are removed.

Message: so the big nut that holds the fan on the water pump is reverse thread, i just dont see why it wont come out of there, i have all the bolts out but it just wont budge, is there anything else i need to remove besides the fan, water pump bolts and the hoses,

Message: i don't want to sound harsh but, if you're not sure about anything when tackling a job like this you should first buy at least a Haynes repair manual for 20 bucks.
if you got all the bolts out the pump should just come off. and if i rmemeber right the large nut on the fan clutch is not reverse thread. i just used a big adjustable wrench and hammer and mine came right off. hold the pulley with some vise-grip pliers.

Check again. There are long and short bolts, then you have the cute little by-pass hose on top.
When you reinstall the fan, lots of WD-40 and finger tighten it. When you un-loosten it, just lay it gently against the radiator. Or remove it with the shroud.
Did I say, check your work again?

Message: okay i got the water pump off, i had to pry it off, i put the new one in, i got everything back together, i used the new gasket and some high temp silicon on both sides of the gasket, and waited about and hour and a half before i started the truck, and as soon as i did, the water pump puked, now i tightened down the bolts with just my own estimations,
(tight as they could) should i of torqued them down, any other ideas on how to get my new pump to stop leaking,
