Alright, I just need an opinion or two. My Dakota is a 93 318, 4x4 extended cab. I've had the tranny rebuilt and the rear end replaced. It's an awesome little truck, and I love it. But, a possiblity has come up. My neighbor across the street from me has put his truck up for sale. It's a 95 Dodge Ram, with the 318. It's a standard cab, and I'm not sure if it's 4x4 or not, (too lazy to go look.) It's a nice looking truck. The tranny and engine were both redone, and have less than 2,000 miles on them. Brakes, tires, and just about every little thing has recently been done. He's asking $5,500 for it, and it kind of sparked my interest. The only thing that doesn't appeal to me, is that it's not the 360. I mean, getting a bigger truck, I'd like the bigger engine, but I've been wanting a cool project to throw a rebuilt 318 or 340 in. (Yes, I said 340, not a typo.)

Would I be stupid to get rid of my Dakota, or would a Ram make a better street truck?

I would say keep the dak. Its almost the same truck just bigger. In my opinion the Dak makes a better street truck.

I traded my Ram in for the Dakota. Like the Dakota much better as a daily driver and tow vehicle.
