Subject: AC and Overdrive IP: Logged
Message: Hey everyone. It's me again, with more problems to throw around. (FYI: 93 5.2 ext cab.)
First off, this is probably something VERY simple, and I feel dumb for inquiring...but my A/C in my truck comes out luke warm, constantly. It doesn't get cold, and sometimes it even blows very warm. I'm not mechanically knowledgable, but it seems to me like it should be recharged? I think anyways.....Can anyone tell me anything?
The next thing, is my overdrive. The other day I was driving and when I got to 45-50 mph, my truck didn't want to shift. Overdrive wouldn't kick in. I brought it where I had my tranny rebuilt, and they looked at it....had me drive through the gears while off the ground, and aparently everything is getting power, and the fuse is fine. My cruise control doesn't work whenever my OD doesn't...so I guess there's something with wiring or power somewhere. They had a computer hooked up under the hood on the passenger side, and I can't remember what the name of the wires are...pcm? something like that? That's where the problems lies. They couldn't do anything for me, so now I need to know what has to be done, and I'm hoping someone on here can lend me an opinion. My overdrive has actually worked a bit since then, along with the cruise control. It's choosing when it wants to work. Goes in and out.
Thank you very much...sorry for the long post.
Kevin
(p.s... I smoked a chromed out Ford Ranger who chuckled at me at a red light yesterday, probably due to the fact my truck isn't very pretty....He wasn't chuckling after it turned green. Chrome don't get you home!)

Message: Check fault codes. The cruise control and O/D problem would be your speed sensor, not the PCM.

Message: Hmm...I assume I'm going to have to find a mechanic or have my dad look at it. How do I check fault codes?
