Subject: Tranny cooler

Tryin to get set up for light to medium towing of toy-trailers and the occasional 6x12 UHAUL. To my surprise my dealer says there is no MOPAR transmission cooler available for my 04 Dakota Quad Cab, and that my year truck never came with one. Any 03-04 4.7s out there with the towing package, doesn't it include a tranny cooler? I could have swore it did.

Also thinking I might get a B and M instead. Anybody got any experience with those or want to recommend any other brands of auxilary transmission coolers?

You could find a wrecked Isuzu delivery truck and get the cooler off that. Comes with a fan, I think, and you could hook it up at the transmission and mount it somewhere under the bed.

The easiest way to find if you have a tranny cooler is to email DC your VIN and request a build list for your vehicle. They will email you a complete list of what all came on your vehicle including the codes.

I finally settled on something called the Imperial Maxi-cool or something like that from Advance Auto. designed for vehicles up to small RV towing up to a maximum of 10,000 pounds. Made by Hayden.

Maybe Im a retard but I popped the hood on my 04 Quad Cab and stood there for about an ahour tryin to figure out how to easily get to the two lines between the rad. and the tranny and there didn't seem to be a simple way. Anybody done this can tell me what I'm missing? Otherwise I'm gonna hand it to the dealer to put on when I get my oil change tomorrow.
