Sub line kinda says it all. I'm driving along and the two lights come on and the speedo drops to zero mph. When I get above 40mph the speedo comes off the pin and shows the correct speed. The lights do not go off though and the speedo goes to zero again if I drop below 40mph.
New shoes and pads were installed a couple thousand miles ago and perform well. Since this happened at the same time, I'm suspecting they are related and possibly a sensor or ground?
No DTC's show when checking the computer.
What do you guys think?

Not uncommon for the pick-up sensor to be damaged at the wheel.

What year? Sounds like the speed sensor. It is located on the rear differential towards the top. Cheap AND easy to replace.
If it doesn't fit, force it. If it breaks...well...it needed to be replaced anyway.

Thanks guys! It's a 1999 with 110,000mi on her.
I'll check the sensor atop the diff, in the morning.

I should have done a better search, guys. I appreciate the spoon-feed; this is a pretty common problem!
I called the stealership and he wants $70. for the part. Thievery compared to the prices I've seen others in the searched threads paying to their dealer. I found one aftermarket source for $45. but it isn't in stock.

I found a closer dealer at $49., so I went that route.
20mins later... voila!!!!!
