Subject: how to remove/replace calipers? IP: Logged
Message: I've got close to a quarter million miles on my '89 4x4, and I'm thinking that it might be time to replace the calipers. They aren't giving me any trouble, believe it or not, but I might do it anyway. I'm like that. Just replace something before it goes bad.
I've done my own front brakes before. Pads and rotors. But I've never disconnected the calipers. Is it hard? Anyone give any tips?

Message: Not that hard, but being that old, the hard part will be the rusted hardware.
Be prepared to buy new bolts, pins, etc.
Some of them are only available from the dealer, so shop first.
