I have an 89 dakota sport with the 3.9 engine. I am getting spark at the plugs, fuel from the TBI, and the intake is not clogged. Why won't it fire? What should the voltage be going to the ignition coil? Please help!
Thanks

If you have spark at the plugs, your looking at fuel, timing or compression. Your timing chain may have junped because of wear. Check timing.

So many problems .... So little time

How do you know you're getting fuel through the TBI? It's not gonna shoot fuel as it's spinning over. You may be getting fuel to the TBI, but that doesn't mean the injectors are spraying.

One quick check would be to spray a small bit of starting fluid into the air intake to see if it will fire and run for a second or two on the starting fluid. If it does, then perhaps the injectors are not firing.
Even if the injectors were firing at the wrong time, the engine would run, just not smoothly.
If you have a distributor, check to make sure the wires are correctly routed to the proper cylinder.
Also, could be crank sensor.

It has a distributor, doesn't have a crank sensor.
What happened to the engine? Was it running fine, then just wouldn't start?

Yeah. Think back. Way back. What was the last thing done to it before it quit working?
