I know this has been done before but I am not a member so I
cannot use the search function.
There seems to be two versions of the yellowtop battery, and I was
wondering which version will fit a 99 dakota 4x4 3.9?

Believe as you want but....... A very close friend sells these in his auto elec shop. He went through the factory and said the only differance in the optima batteries is color and size. All else is identical. buy the cheapest you can and you also got the best for cheap. this guy is super honest. he well not hide this fact from any customer. he sells all colors for those that refuse to believe him but he recommends the cheapest in the size you want to all.
So many problems .... So little time.

Obs,
My mechanic told me not to waste the money.
Outside of being completely sealed and being able to mount it upside-down, what are the advantages?

I have a huge drain on my elect. system via 2200 watts rms from
my audio system, and I like to listen to my music with car off
sometimes when I work outside.
And my current battery is on its last leg.
And on my car audio forum, there are some real smart guys on
there, and a few have tested out the batteries for their own
purpose, one guy who had a business and did the same, I'll try
and find the links later on, and the did say there was a difference
in red and yellow top.
I agree they may generally close to one another, but, I don't
think identical.
But if anyone does have one in their dak, I know there are a lot
of thsi forum, or at least there used to... let me know what
model fits. IIRC one was too big, so I wanna make sure.
