Subject: Colder A/C?- heres how...... IP: Logged
Message: I've posted this B4, but can't get to the old thread.
Find which heater core water line is your intake, under the hood. Put a nice 90degree ball cock style valve in the line.
NO hot water goes into the cab, hence colder a/c.
Someone even measured it with a thermo, and found a 9 degree difference.
Now, I drive around with my a/c temp switch on the full red zone, and it's COLD!
I've been doing this for years, others have too.
And, NO, you won't mess up your heater core!
It works awesome, try it.

Message: I would guess your idea works. I'm thinking if your air wasn't cold enough before doing this, you got a slight problem. My 99 4x4 5.2 CC Runs me out on heat in 40 below and on AC at high 90's and 2 times over 100. I have to run it on low .In my case I see nothing to be gained that I could use. Might be some out there could use this idea
So many problems .... So little time

Sometimes I have to add heat to keep from getting too cold, but I like the concept.
Using my probe thermometer, I figure about the temperature difference you did, but, what is the difference between outside air and vent air with the hot water turned off?

Message: Do it to both lines. Heat will gradually back up the other line as well. Not as big an improvement but it helps.
