Subject: Can baby oil be used in the engine? IP: Logged
Message: The price of oil and gas is going out of sight.
But Ham's Club has a giant 4 liter bottle of baby oil for $3.99.
Can I use it in my engine? Is it any different than amsoil or mobil 1000?
Even if it doesn't lubricate as well, I think my truck will still smell better than anyone elses, and that might get the chicks interested.
What other uses would one have for 4 liters of baby oil?

If it doesn't fit, force it. If it breaks...well...it needed to be replaced anyway.

Message: I wouldn't. The smell would be overpowering. I guess it would be OK if you painted the truck pink.
I'm using WD-40. I like the smell, it's cheap, and it cleans really well. I like a clean engine.

Message: I thought of that. I replaced mine with a synthetic bronze bushing. Synthetic is supposed to work better, handle more heat, and last longer.

Message: Tony,
Get your muffler bearings from KaleCo Auto (http://www.kalecoauto.com)...much cheaper there.
$49.99/ea. as compared to $89.99/ea. at the stealership.

Message: I went to the junk yard to get some salvage muffler bearings, but you guys must have beat me to it. They were all gone! :(
As for the baby oil, another good use I find for it is as a replacement for tent stake oil when camping.

Message: Yeah, GB2000, I know about KaleCo about a year now - that is where I got my left handed monkey wrench from! They recently updated their site, as I e-mailed their link to a few car nuts in my office here.
