Subject: Adding driving lights? IP: Logged
Message: My 04 dakota did not come with stock driving lights, has anyone ever added driving lights? There are molded areas in the bumper where the stock driving lights would normally go, I would have to cut those out. Does dodge run the wires for the driving lights if they are not installed?
Thanks,
Stan

Message: I had a hole cutter set but not big enough to cut the intire hole out. So I used the biggest one i had and carefully finished the job with an air rotery tool. these air tools are really high speed and makes it very easy to do a precise job. I smoothed the hole edges with a slow veriable drill and round sanding drum using a fine grade wheel. Came out factory perfect. It looked like there was light mounts moulded into the plastic but I didn't like that idea so I made my own brackets and mounts to bolt to the frame metal. Made a good solid job of it. I never bohered to look for factory wires. I just run my own.
So many problems .... So little time

Message: Both my fog lights broke off. I want to put gun barrels in the holes.
You can't glue to the plastic. New air dam's are on-line for around $130.00

Message: I didn't have driving lights either so took a 4" hole saw and a dremel to open up the valance. Bought the pilot navagator 4" round 55 watt setup from walmart for $40 i think. Used the brackets that came with set but had to put washers in for spacers and a longer bolt to get the lights to sit in the holes right. Followed directions for wiring and put the switch next to the headlight switch. Works great and visibility is excellent with the silverstar headlights and driving lights both on.

Message: I got some 90 degree angle aluminum stock at Lowes in the hardware department, I cut some sections out and drilled them to use as mounts for my KC off road lights. I bolted them to the front of the bumper. I painted them black to match; they don't look too bad.
