How many miles do most of you run
tween changes? Also, which filter
would you run?

M-1 10W-30 year round. Change oil and filter every 7,500 miles. It could probably go to 10K, but I would want to do an oil analysis before stretching it that far.

Message: Mobil 1 EP And Mobil 1 filter. there best one. pricey and I have to order off the net. I average 7,000 miles per year so I do one oil change per year. I do a 250 mile RT drive at least once a month and this keeps condensation from collecting in my engine. Oil still looks almost new at change. If your doing all town driving I would shorten this to 5,000 and if you do a lot of idling drop it to 3,000. My opinion only.
So many problems .... So little trime.

Message: I've been running mobil 1 synthetic in my trucks (current dakota and previous dakota) and my wife's cars (current grand am and previous mustang). I use the purolator pure one filters. I change around 5,000 miles (give or take a few). I work off hours so I'm not stuck in atlanta rush hour much anymore. When I was, changed every 3,000-3,500.
Most vehicles these days recommend 7500 miles. my wife's grand am has an oil life cycle system. There is a light that comes on to indicate it's time to change the oil. Factory recommends never more than 1 year though.
Even when I drive the car more than she does (to save gas/cash as it gets 30mpg vs 16 in dakota) I still change around every 5,0000.
cheap insurance.
I run 5w30 in the truck and 10w30 in the car. I just changed the oil in my truck and decided to try the m1 5w30 synthetic truck/suv oil vs the standard 5w30 synthetic oil.
oh yeah, I switched to pureone premium air filter too and so far it's gained me about .5 mpg.
I get the m1 synthetic for around $21/5 quarts at wal-mart. I pick up the pureone filters at advance.

hey cheap bastard,
why use cheap oil in a $5,000 engine?
you guys have no brains.
you guys might not realize a difference today,
but you will when you have 50-100k miles on your trucks.
