i just picked up a good lil truck last night minus a t-case, need to find out what t-case is in those rigs

I think there is a tag on the front diff that will tell you. The most recent I have seen was a 727 on a 96 with a 5.2.
If it doesn't fit, force it. If it breaks...well...it needed to be replaced anyway.

To add to the above, if you take the VIN to a dealership service or parts department, they should be able to tell you exactly which transfer case should be in the vehicle.

92 and 97 Daks both with many mods.
