Subject: New Hood Pics!! IP: Logged
Message: My truck is alittle dirty but go and check out my new hood! I bought the hood at a junk yard, stripped the paint, installed a fiberglass Six-Pack hood scoop, and then spray painted it flat black until i have enough money to get it professionally done. Its all functional and I am getting ready to build the air collector thing tomorrow.

Message: That spray paint job really looks poor. Honestly, you should bring the truck to a bump shop and have someone dust it properly for $150 or so. It's a very cool hood though.

Message: I know I was not doing the painting in a shed with only 2 lights. I plan on having it painted by the end of this month. I just spray painted it so it would not rust. How much might it cost and shood I go with a red hood w/ black scoop or black w/ black?

Message: I'd go red hood with black scoop...or red hood with red scoop. The black with black looks okay temporarily, but if you were showing it off somewhere I'd prolly laugh at your truck being so mismatched.

Message: Wow. That sure is a, er, ah, rather LARGE scoop you got there!!!!
If I saw something like that, I'd expect there to be some kind of muscle under there.
Hope you got some Nitrous or something just in case a sedan wants to race you!
LOL! Just giving you sh*t man :)
Like someone said, you can take that in and have it painted.
Or better yet, I'd go buy a in expensive paint gun from Home Depot or something. Buy some nice paint from Napa and the hood would give you something to practice finishing and painting on.
The paint doesn't cost much either. The clear coat cost more than the paint actually.
