Subject: banking sound while braking

Message:
Lately my truck has been making a rattling or banging sound while braking. It sounds like its coming from the rear. It makes the back end of the truck shake. It only happens while braking. While driving or accelerating fast or slow everything is silky smooth. While coast everything is also smooth. I took the tires off with my buddy and the rotors are a tad worn, but don't look bad enough to replace. Any ideas?

You have discs in the rear? No fair! But it could be that the rotors are warped as I see some people have had from reading the posts here. That would account from the shaking - er, unless you have a shaker hood. LOL

also agree with warped rotors. if you have a mic you can take some measurements and find out. or take it down to a shop and have them machined.

do you do a lot of hard braking? do you like to go fast in reverse and slam on the brakes?
