 Subject: check engine light...?

Today the check engine light came on and stayed on. It's throwin' a P 0551 odo-code. Anyone know what this code means? The truck's an '01 with a 4.7 and I got 91,000 miles on it. I just yesterday changed the power steering pump and forgot to hook up the sensor wire on the output fluid line. But I just hooked it back up and the check engine light is still on so that wasn't the problem. Appreciate any help...taker easy...

Just because the light is on doesn't mean that was not it. Disconnect your negative battery terminal and turn the igniton key for 30 seconds then reconnect the terminal and see if the code pops up again.

I think the computer has to be reset after a code pops up, so even if it's been fixed, unless you reset the code it will stay on.
