Subject: Throttle body spacers and air intake kit IP: Logged
Message: Are throttle body spacers any good? Do they provide any real improvement in performance or mpg?
How about K&N (and clone) Performance intake kits? Are they worth the $250?
I'm thinking about putting both of these on my 99 2wd slt. My main concern is better mpg . . . more power is also nice! :)

Message: the TB spacer will make a good paper weight. I dont like these K&N filters as I had a drop in filter. it lets alot of dirt in to your intake and the oil on the filter gets in your intake as well. I would just stick with the stock air filter setup. save your money for some real mods like cams, gears, exhaust. things of that nature.

Message: Jecht is 100% correct. the cold are intake is ok but K & n Is as stated. Lets dirt into your engine. I myself run a drop in K&N filter till I went to reoil it. I was sick seeing what I was doing to my engine. also I never noticed no differance in any way from the paper filter other then the air sucking noise when floored at higher RPM. The spacer also is total junk. Statements have said they do work some with a carberated engine. Take all this as gosple and spend your bucks on a cam.
So many problems .... So little time
