Message: Are Taylor spark plug wires any good? I am thinking about getting a set, they are 8mm. If you haven't heard anything about them what are some other ones that are good? And what do they run($)?

Message: Yes... Taylors are a good choice. If your doing a complete tuneup, Use brass contact dist cap and rotor. unless your running an MSD which I do not care for due to multiple reasons, I would put a new coil on that is 30,000 volts and a set of Champion Truck plugs. They have the best resistance money can buy and this whole package will impress you provided nothing else is wrong with your rig. Good luck

Message: If I just replace the factory plug wires with the 8mm Taylor ones and put Champion spark plugs in and nothing else, will that make a difference in how my truck runs? I've heard new wires and plugs help with gas mileage, but is it a considerable amount or just a minor change?

Message: If your old parts are worn out, then replacing them with a quality set will improve performance and mileage. Otherwise, you won't notice any differance.

Message: It runs awesome, I haven't had any problems with it really(knock on wood), except for the fuel pump has acted up on me. I put on IMCO exhaust, single in double out and a cold air intake, Im just looking for some other stuff I can do to it to get the best performance and gas mileage. I don't want to spend too much money though.

Message: Hey new guy I had a set of Taylor 8mm, good brass contact cap and rotor on a 5.2. I did'nt really notice much change at the install except much improved idle. Now when one of the wires burnt through on the interstate a couple years later, and I put some AutoZone wires in to finish the trip. I really noticed what a difference just the wires made. Your not going to make mad horsepower or gain incredible milage, but they are wort it in my opinion.

I don't recall seeing any coil voltage info on the last one I bought for my old truck. Which coil do you use?

Message: My coil is a Jacobs . It's the only thing I got left from him still working. There are several companies make 30,000 volt coils so shouldn't be to difficult locating one. You want an oil filed coil plus metal housing for the best cooling. Cooler the coil runs the longer it will last. I have great luck searching the net and If I don't see the information I want I send them an email. My coil is round like the factory one and mounted in the same place. jacobs pushes buying aluminum cased coils saying they run cooler then metal and way cooler then plastic cased coils. My problem with his aluminum coils is there square and more bulky. I just don't care for the design and there harder to find a good cool place to mount. Look for advertising that says ...veriable spark or adjustable spark or any words that basicly mean the same thing. These coils Actually do give out spark that veries to match conditions making them a terrific investment. You do this coil thing along with 8mm wires brass contact dist cap and rotor and champion truck plugs, you will be a very happy camper. These plugs are an important part of the package. They have 85,000 ohms resistance allowing higher arc over voltage before firing the plug which is exactly what you want. This setup will out perform an MSD hands down and doesnt burn things up faster then normal like the MSD does. MSD does have it's place but it's on engines S/C or TURBO or very high compression race engines. All other aplications of MSD are a total waste of good money. only way you will ever believe all this is to do it. You'll never do it differant at least with what's availble at this time
