Subject: help w/ drivetrain?

Need help diagnosing! I have a 2000 V8 QC 4x4 auto. For the past year or so the engine will hunt between gears when trying to maintain a speed, usually over 40mph. I really notice it on the freeway. Dodge dealer couldn't tell me what was wrong. Then last night, it seemed to have lost power, especially hesitating in the front left wheel. I can still drive it, but it doesn't have any get up and go. Any ideas??? Don't want to wait a week for the dealer to tell me again that he can't figure it out. HELP!!!

Sounds like it could be a tranny problem, maybe with the inside electronics. For instance, if it starts out in the wrong gear, like 2nd or 3rd instead of 1st, it can seem like a lack of power. What do you mean by hesitating in the left front wheel?
