Message: The only ticking noise I heard/felt like that was ABS. Hopefully someone else can help you because Ive never experienced that when stepping on or letting off the gas.

Message: Year, engine.... Do you have cruise control? Auto or standard? Have you cleaned the IAC? The reason I ask is, if you have cruise, then it might be trying to operate causing the cable to get tension/slack in it, OR it could be your kick-down cable fluctuating if you have an auto, OR it might be the IAC valve trying to regulate the idle speed of the motor. Could be alot of things. Anything more happen, and have you done any modifications/maintenance lately?
If it doesn't fit, you're using the wrong hammer!
