Subject: BEWARE of THE FAKE GAS PILL !!! IP: Logged
Message:
ABC News recently reported results for the MPG-Cap, a “gas pill” marketed by the Florida-based company Fuel Freedom International.
According to Fuel Freedom International’s website, a $2 MPG-Cap in your gas tank for every fill will increase mileage by 10 percent to 20 percent.
Consumer groups warn that these products fail to live up to the promise of better fuel economy. The ConsumerReports.org website reports devices it has tested did nothing to improve fuel economy.
There is no “magic pill” that will increase gas mileage.

Message: The most cost-effective way for me to get better mileage in my Dak is to ritualistically slap myself when my foot goes too far down on the gas pedal. There is a guy here where I work that tried to hock those pills on people.
Considering how much they cost ($75 a bottle I believe), and that it can take over four tanks (4 pills per tank) for my Dak to even show the smallest signs of "savings," I told him to provide ample freebies to prove it works. He hasn't said a word since.

Message: The best way to make up your mind about these sort of things is to realize that if there was a quick fix, at a relatively low price to increase mileage. Then your truck would have already came with it from the factory. If a tornado fuel saver really worked, for the mere $75, the automotives would be using it.
The only real way to get any gains with your vehicle is by sacraficing in other areas. Want more HP? Then guzzle more gas. Want better airflow? Then put up with a noisy intake and a pain in the butt re-usuable filter.
Our trucks are tuned to be perfectly balanced between fuel economy and power, and comfort. To gain in any one of those areas, you have to sacrafice in the others.
As it was mentioned already, the easiest way to gain 30% or more fuel economy is to drive your truck like an 80 year old man. Accelerate slowly, travel 5 under the limit on highways, and let off the gas long before you approach the red light. If you have to brake hard, you've been driving to hard. Its aggravating, but it works.

"pain in the butt re-usuable filter"
How is the re-usable filter a pain in the butt?
My K&N only needs to be serviced about every 50k miles or so. This weekend I saw a commercial to replace the air filter every 12k miles. Do the math there, instead of replacing an air filter 4 times every 50k miles i have to unscrew one phillips head screw and spray some refilter charger on the filter, and rinse it off wait a couple hours put the oil on the filter, screw the phillips head screw back on the intake and be done with it for another 2 years or so.
