Message: Going to change the oil in the rear axle.Need to know how to find out if my rear axle is LSD(limited slip additive needed) and if it is 8 1/4" or 9 1/4"(different oil quantity)
Sticker in glovebox is saying about rear axle:Corporate 9.I know my question may seem stupid, but my "automotive english"is pretty poor and "corporate 9"means nothing to me.
My truck is Dak QC 04',4x4,4,7.

Message: Corporate 9 is the 9.25" rear axle. The cover plate is octagonal shaped with 12 cover bolts. The Corporate 8 is the 8.25" axle. Its cover plate is closer to eliptical and has ten cover bolts.
The glovebox sticker would have an entry showing "DSA - Antispin Differential". There is also a label on the left end of the axle tube that has the size and LSD/non-LSD situation.
Another way to tell is to lift both tires off the ground, put the tranny in neutral, then turn one of the wheels. If the other one spins the same direction you have LSD. If it spins the other direction it is open - no need for the friction modifier.

Message: Could also do a short to medium burnout & check the black streaks. 1 is open ,2 is LSD.
