Subject: Blinker problem

Message:
I have a 2001 dakota 4x4 and am having a problem. My left front blinker does not work the light flashes really fast like a bulb is out but that isn't it. I replaced the multifunction switch, or the blinker and windsheild wiper unit but that didn't fix it. Any suggestions on how to fix it are greatly appreciated. Also, no fuses are blown. Thanks

Check the ground/harness for corrosion.

If it doesn't fit, you're using the wrong hammer!

By-the-way, do you have a trailer light harness hooked up to the truck? If you do, double check you wiring. I had a friend that had the wire all FUBAR an his lights wouldn't work right.

I have had that happen and fixed it by replacing the metal ( some are plastic ) flasher unit. Some plug into the fuse block. Some cars have two - one for blinkers and one for emer flashers. Also, as cuzin said, a crossed or shorting wire can cause it.

I had this problem on the driver's rear taillight of my Dak. It was a short in the wiring or something. Dealer replaced it under warranty free of charge...
