Message: Will the clutch fail to engage if low on A134? Worked great last fall but clutch does not engage when turned on. What else could this be?
Thanks

Message: I think there is a pressure switch. Why not take it to a pro? If it leaks you'll need it fixed anyway.
Case for a pro;
I discovered a hole, just above the license plate, that looked like a javalin (no, not the car) had punctured the condenser.
My mechanic did his magic and I havn't touched it in around 400,000 miles. Still does 34 degrees at the left center vent.

Message: Yep, if your R-134a is low, then the pressure switch won't allow the clutch to engage. I would go get a cheap pressure gauge from an autoparts store to do a quick check on the system before you take it to a pro though. If the gauge shows good pressure, then you probably have either a clutch wire/harness problem, or a pressure switch problem.
If it doesn't fit, you're using the wrong hammer!
