Message: Are there spark plugs that can increase torque?
My '00 Dakota QC came with copper spark plugs I replaced them with double platinum.
Or can you adjust the gap on a spark plug to give you more torque?
Thanks

Message: no they cant..... your torque is based on how the engine breathes.... try larger TB to get a torque increase or ECM flash

Message: Platinum plugs have very low resistance,5 or 6 thousands OHMS or so causing weaker spark. This can be to your advantage provided your ignition is running weak for some reason and will allow your engine to fire closer to 100% of the time. As good as that may sound it's not desirable. The Champion plugs you took out gave 75,000 OHMS resistance holding arc over back longer building up voltage to provide a good hot spark. Myself I run champion truck plugs. They deliver 85,000 OHMS resistance so better spark yet. Besides this, run 8 MM plug wires and 30,000 volt coil plus a rotor and dist cap with brass contacts.Doing this, open the plug gap an extra 10 thousands. This doesn't build torque but it sure will make youe engine fun the best it can stock or what ever.
So many problems .... So little time
