Message: While you're driving, pull the brake petal back with your foot (pull the brakes off) and see if it will engage. The switch that shuts off the cc when you put the brake on might be the problem. It hasn't happened to me, info just from reading websites.

Message: if it engages and then looses it slowly, look for vacuum leaks, and if you cant find any add a vacuum reservoir(or however you spell that word). also if your HVAC is vacuum controlled, when on, it will slowly switch to the defrost vents as your climbing a hill or trying to speed up with the cruise on. this would also indicate a vacuum problem.

Message: Thanks.
It gradually looses speed. This time the vents don't change to defrost (the default position with no vaccuum), and it doesn't work in clicks, (meaning tap the button once and it goes up a couple MPH) but I must hold the button down, like an old fashion control. When it finally does 'take' it'll hold. Usually.

Message: I vote for the vacuum. On my 96 3.9, check under the fuel rail on the passenger side - middle of the block. Mine popped off and I had the same problem. Could also be cracks in the hose.

Message: 500000 miles...that would be approx 62500 miles a year, 5200 a month, or 744 miles a day for the past 8 years....did you truck ever sit still, or are you measuring in km?
If it doesn't fit, you're using the wrong hammer!
