Trying to see if anyone can give me any input on my A/C. (2001 -v6)
Blower motor tests OK when hot wired.
I have replaced the entire A/C controls (1 piece item.)
All fuses are ok.
The blower motor will not come on when the system is turned on but, the compressor is still comming on and going off accoriding to clutch and pressure switch. Just no blower. I'm I over looking any parts?

have you tested for voltage/gnd at the blower motor connector? check the connector pins on the back of the hvac controls and blower motor to see if their bent or corroded. find a wiring diagram and trace wires. put dielectric grease on all the connections just to be safe. ive fixed weird electrical gremlins with just dielectric grease before.

Now that has interesting results. I have 12v but no ground. If I jumper a ground in to the loop, the fan comes on at "high". The controls have no effect on the fan speed at this point.
This tells me that dodge is varing/resisting the ground to accomplish the multi speeds.
Humm... Seem the ground is not passing on to the fan but, the compressor is not comming on unless prompted by the switch...
Sounds like the hvac controls are missing there ground?
I'm stumped...

Because there is no effect from the fan speed control after a ground is jumped in the loop, this really stumps me. The multi-pin at the (fan side) of the rear controls reads around 11.50VDC when the truck is running. This tells me that voltage, including tested ground, is making it to the controls.
It's almost like there is a relay or some sort of controler located between the controls and the fan motor.
If anyone has a schematics, can you take a look and see if there is anything between the two.

It's my understanding that the blower motor ground is ran through the resistor pack then through the fan controls to a specific ground. I dont have a diagram for your vehicles so I can't tell you where that ground is.
So, depending on what the fan speed is set to depends which resistor(s) in the resistor pack is used. The resistor pack resistors are connected in series. How many of these resistors are used depends on fan speed.

oh yeah forgot to mention to you to check the resistor pack. This is a common problem on here with blower motor not working.

yeah call a dodge dealer and see if they offer a blower motor resistor for your truck and if its not too much buy it. the resistors went out on grand cherokees all the time, but i never worked on a dak before, but it sure sounds like it uses one. good luck homie.

Is your heater working proper??????/ If yes then resister is working provided you have all speeds. If not the resister is the problem. Mine is on the fire wall passenger side behind jocky box area. Guessing yours is there also or atleast close by.
So many problems .... So little time

Bingo! I pulled the resistor stack from under the glove box and it was toasted! I'm sure that will fix it right up when I get to the dealer Monday.
Well, atleast I didn't buy "new" controls from the dealer. I only paid $40 (including shipping) on ebay. Well you can either call that a $40 lesson learned or $40 saved on a diagnostics fee.
Reguardless, I'm set. Thanks for the help guys.

Reference for everyone.
The part number for the resistor pack is 04885635ab. Dealer item only. Location, under glove box on passenger side. 2 screws holding it in and a 5 wire plug attached.

1990 dakota. A/C comes out of the defrost and the floor vents but does not come out of the panel.Whats going on? I have replaced a new A/C and Heater control unit .

but it doesn't blow well out of the vents. Has a new
motor and resistor. what else can it be.
