Message: Hello to everyone!
Found,my stock shocks are..........
Driving on sometimes bumpy, curvy european roads at a speed over 60mph gets really dangerous.
Any suggestions about aftermarket makes will be appreciated..

Message: Rancho RS5000's are a good performance shock and are fairly inexpensive compared to Edelbrocks and Monroe Reflex shocks. However, a lot of people swear by those two shocks. It just all depends on what your wallet can handle.

I have had rancho edelbrock monrow and tralmaster
and I have found KYB to be the best shock you can buy for your money.

Message: Bilstein's allow you to corner much better and they are stiffer than stock - no more bouncy feeling.
I've had them on for five years now and wouldn't go back.

Message: I used my Edelbrocks for 50 miles, then paid the dealer full pop for stock shocks. Why, you ask? Because they allowed the truck to bottom out AND top out. Only time it ever did that.
Now I have $300.00 worth of shocks the manufacturer won't take because I bought them from a store that went out of business.
Greg,
I gather you think Bilstein's are better than stock...

Message: I also had the Edelbrocks (IAS) and definitely can't recommend them. They seemed o.k. at first, but after a short while I had the worst pounding and noises when going over the smallest of bumps. I ended up putting some cheap Gabriels on and now I like driving my truck again.

Message: I don't know how much your willing to spend to get the handleing your looking for. If that's what your into then spend the money for new tires, wider and with a lower sidewall hight. Then get any gas shock you can afford. Also changing to poly bushings on the front end will really bring things together. All this comes with a high price tag but if you want to conner like your on rails spend the money.

Message: Stiff shocks and good tight sway bar bushings (front and rear) will fix 90% of your problem.
Stock shocks are too soft.
This is what I have found.

Message: Too bad so sad no Edlebrock, Koni or Bilstein's for any '04 Dakota.
How stiff are the Rancho's? I've got 35,000 miles on my '04 Quad it's getting close to replacement time...

Message: Pro Comp ES9000 were a big improvement over stock shocks and did not cost very much either. Defintely provided more stability over bumpy roads with improved handling/cornering.

Message: I have them on my 2000 quad cab. They should work fine on an 04, but you should probably call or email them to find out. 05+ Dak they will hopefully have something soon.
